You should consider how the cheerleaders will wear their hair before deciding if you want to go with an elastic band or a clip.
If they will be wearing their hair in pony tails or braids, then an elastic band is easier. If they will just be pulling it back away from their faces, then a clip will work fine.
Or, if your squad changes how they fix their hair, you can always make or purchase both types.
If you cannot (or don't want to) tie or make this kind of cheer bow, a nice simple, but attractive cheer hair bow can be made with this simple trick...
Your ribbons will be permanently formed in a nice spiral that you can then attach together on the elastic band or clip. Use your school or team colors and POOF! You just made a korker or simple cheer bow.

Baby wipes are great for quick cleanings because they are mild and do not require rinsing. A toothbrush can be used to clean around beads or rhinestones.
Be sure to get inside the folds of the ribbon. These two methods will remove any hairspray, sweat and any oils or dirt. Gently swishing the hair bow in water with shampoo added to it will leave it looking bright and new again.
You can also steam clean cheer hair bows by holding them over a boiling pan of water with tongs. Do not get too close if the bow has beads or anything plastic added to it because they will melt.
After steaming, use a baby wipe to wipe any loose dirt clean. Lay the bow flat to dry. If the bow seems limp it can be sprayed with starch - just be sure to follow the directions on the starch can.
Remember that back up bow we suggested you make? These will come in handy when you are cleaning the other hair bow.
As you can see, cheer hair bows are fun to make and very easy to take care of. They add that extra special touch to a cheerleader's uniform and as Moms we know, our cheerleaders are worth the extra effort!
